Colon Polyps & Screening

Colorectal cancer screening has moved to age 45 with new modalities and quality measures expanding. The session covers cell-free DNA tests (Shield blood test FDA-approved), multi-target stool tests (Cologuard Plus), AI-assisted colonoscopy adenoma detection (GI Genius, ENDO-AID), serrated polyposis syndrome, surveillance interval guidelines (USMSTF 2024), the screening starting age 45 implementation, and post-colonoscopy CRC management. Discussion addresses Lynch syndrome and FAP surveillance, virtual colonoscopy (CTC), the comparison of screening modalities by cost-effectiveness, screening uptake disparities and intervention strategies, and the emerging role of organoids in personalising surveillance based on polyp biology.
