Anorectal Disorders

Anorectal disorders affect quality of life significantly and require specialised diagnostic and treatment approaches. The session covers hemorrhoid management (rubber-band ligation, sclerotherapy, stapled hemorrhoidopexy, transanal hemorrhoidal dearterialisation), anal fissure treatment (topical nitrates, calcium channel blockers, botulinum toxin, sphincterotomy), fecal incontinence treatment (sacral nerve stimulation, bulking agents, injectable hyaluronic acid), dyssynergic defecation and biofeedback, rectal prolapse management, and pelvic-floor rehabilitation models. Discussion addresses LGBTQ+ anorectal health considerations, anorectal cancer screening in HPV-exposed populations, transgender perineal anatomy and care, the role of pudendal nerve neuromodulation, and the integration of pelvic-floor physiotherapy.
